I am currently employed as an Instrument and Controls Technician for Southwest Generation Company. I have been working for the Southwest Generation Company for 19 months, as an Instrument and Controls Technician. I am responsible for all equipment and machinery repair and maintenance. Which includes the office computers, field flow and pressure transmitters, MOV valves and actuators, high voltage relays and breakers which include the voltage rating from 24vdc, 120vac, 208vac, 480vac, 4160vac, 13800vac, and 115000vac. All PLC and DCS systems, scheduled preventative maintenance, the Continuous Emission Monitoring system that includes C0/NOX/02 analyzer repair maintenance and calibrations, this position also requires the completion of all state and federal forms. The completion of testing results and compliance records for the facility emissions operating permits.
I have over 20 years experience in the electrical and electronics trade. During this time I have been exposed to different types of computer driven products, various manufacture control products and have experience with calibration procedures and document control of the electrical prints and schematics. I have been elected as a member of a department while employed by the Board of Education, this department is setup for the training of other employees, I have been sent to different manufacture training facilities received their training and taught other employees, this has been cost effective for some companies and most employees prefer this type of training (hands on and related to our equipment practices.
Prior to my technician positions I have been employed as and electrical / mechanical designer which includes the design, test and field installation of products such as motor control centers, pallatizers, mobile restaurant equipment, automated products and test equipment. I have several years of Auto Cad experience, which has been helpful in manufacturing, print updating and training. I have recently completed the Auto Cad electrical 2009 training program in December of 2008 and have revised several ladder logic schematics that have been outdated for years.
